(Surnames: A-Lh) spent the past 6 years working overseas in Japan, first as an elementary teacher and then as a K-12 Guidance and College Counselor before arriving at ISM. Doug is a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the Overseas Association for College Admission Counselors (OACAC) and the Ontario School Counselor’s Association (OSCA). He graduated with a Bachelors degree from University of Guelph and a Master’s degree from University of Toronto. Most recently, Doug completed his Additional Qualification courses in Guidance and Counseling from Queen’s University. Doug’s wife, Naoko, is an IB Japanese teacher with a wealth of language teaching experience. Doug and Naoko have one son, Conner, who will begin grade 6 at ISM. Doug loves most sports, but has a special fondness and passion for basketball, a sport he has coached at the middle school and varsity level. Doug was born and raised in Kitchener, Canada (near Toronto).
